Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R-MN), a possible candidate for the 2012 presidential elections, is the keynote speaker at the Iowa Republican Party’s annual fall event in Des Moines. Earlier this year, Gov. Pawlenty announced that he wouldn't campaign for a third term and later formed a national political action committee, Freedom First.

A House Oversight and Government Reform Subcmte. held a hearing on the financial and operational challenges facing the U.S. Postal Service. On Tuesday, the Postal Service announced a 3% price increase in priority mail shipping for next year while the price for first-class and standard mail will remain the same.
