With financial regulatory reform bills being debated in Congress, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke gave an update on the steps the Fed is taking to improve the U.S. economic outlook. Senate Banking Cmte. Chair Chris Dodd (D-CT) is backing a proposal to strip the Fed of much of its supervisory power over financial institutions.
