The LBJ Library has released the last batch of President Johnson’s 1968 calls. These calls focus on the Democratic National Convention taking place in Chicago, with issues including the choice of a running mate for Hubert Humphrey, a party platform plank calling for peace in Vietnam, and violent anti-war protests in Chicago. Historian David Shreve provides context and background for these conversations throughout the program.
