Thousands gathered in downtown Washington, D.C. for the "March for Our Lives" rally. An estimated 800 similar marches happened around the world. The event was organized in response to the February 14, 2018, Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland, Florida, as well as other school shootings since the 1999 Columbine High School shooting in Colorado.
