President Bush and President Al-Malaki held a news conference on the Status of Forces Agreement between the U.S. and Iraq. The event was part of a final surprise trip to Iraq to sign the treaty that called for U.S. troops to withdraw.

During the news conference an Iraqi journalist tossed shoes at President Bush, resulting in a brief scuffle between the journalist and security officials. Tossing or bearing shoes is considered an expression of great contempt in the Arab world. close
