The House Will Reconvene At 12:00 PM Today
House Session - September 18, 2024

In a a 202-220 vote, the House failed to approve a six-month continuing resolution that would temporarily fund the government past the September 30, 2024, deadline until March 28, 2025 to avert a shutdown. The bill was pulled from the House floor the previous week due to a lack of support. Lawmakers approved three other measures: the Violence Against Women by Illegal Aliens Act, the Anti-BDS Labeling Act, and the Protecting Americans' Investments from Woke Policies Act. Members also passed four suspension bills that were debated earlier in the week.
