The Supreme Court heard oral argument in California v. Texas, a consolidated case concerning the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act. The justices will be deciding whether the individual mandate requiring each person to have health insurance coverage is unconstitutional after the 2017 tax law zeroed out a monetary penalty for no coverage. The court has through June 2021 to issue a ruling.
