Administration officials, cybersecurity administrators, and law enforcement discussed ways to protect the nation's emergency alert system (EAS) from cyber attacks during a meeting hosted by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) in Washington, DC.
Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra testified on President Biden's multi-billion-dollar supplemental funding requests for the agencies before the Senate Appropriations Committee. Republicans quickly seized the opportunity to intensely question Secretary Mayorkas on border security and illegal immigration. During the more than three-hour public hearing, most of the questions went to Secretary Mayorkas. Other question topics briefly directed at Secretary Becerra included high childcare costs, housing on unaccompanied migrant children and the fentanyl crisis.

2024 Republican presidential candidate and former President Donald Trump spoke to Florida voters at an event just outside of Miami. This was on the same night his Republican opponents were nearby participating in a televised debate. Arkansas Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R), who served as White House Press Secretary during the Trump administration, joined the former president to offer her endorsement.
