The president, along with Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar, reacted to testimony on Capitol Hill by Rick Bright, the recent director of the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) who says his superior forced him out of his job because he resisted alleged political pressure. Secretary Azar said everything Mr. Bright called for in his testimony to respond to the pandemic was done by the president. Mr. Trump called the former director an "angry, disgruntled employee."

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers (D) held a briefing on the state's response to the coronavirus pandemic a day after the Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down the governor's stay-at-home order. While asking people to continue mitigation measures in the state, the governor addressed the court's 4-3 ruling, saying, "Republican legislators have convinced four of our Supreme Court justices to throw our state into chaos." The governor added that while "the Supreme Court may have changed the rules for how we operate, they sure the heck didn't change how viruses operate."
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) held a briefing the day before the House voted on a $3 trillion economic aid package in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
