Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf (D) held a news conference to address protesting and civil unrest across the state. Governor Wolf said, "the protests have done their intended job" as he announced several steps he would be taking to address potential police misconduct in Pennsylvania. His plan includes a review of police training curriculum, as well as the creation of a police advisory board, a state-level law enforcement commission to look into police misconduct, a deputy inspector general to stop waste, fraud and abuse, and the creation of a sub-committee to look at racial and ethnic disparities. The governor said the purpose of these actions would be to build community and encourage transparency in order to "make our democracy better for everybody."

The president touted the strong jobs report released by the government that morning, making the case that the worst economic impacts from the coronavirus pandemic were behind the country. President Trump also praised the Secret Service and National Guard for their response to protests in Washington, DC. "You have to dominate the streets," he said, calling on governors and mayors to deploy more forces in their cities in response to widespread protests following the death of George Floyd in the custody of the Minneapolis Police Department. He said every American deserves equal and fair treatment from law enforcement and what happened to Mr. Floyd should never happen again. "Hopefully, George is looking down right now and saying, 'This is a great thing that's happening for our country.' This is a great day for him, it's a great day for everybody. This is great day for everybody."
