The president announced a 25 percent tariff on Chinese steel and aluminum and a 100 percent tariff on electric vehicles made in China. Century Aluminum President and CEO Jesse Gary and United Steelworkers International Vice President at Large Roxanne Brown joined the president for the announcement. They both stressed the importance of union jobs and benefits for workers. The president's remarks were held in the Rose Garden at the White House.
