Former Google AI & OpenAI Employees Testify on AI Regulation

Further, former OpenAI employee William Saunders said it was plausible that an AGI system could be built within three years and that this technology could cause "radical changes to the economy and employment" and "catastrophic harm" in cyber attacks and with biological weapons. Finally, the witnesses said top AI companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Anthropic were investing heavily in AGI, but it was not too late for the federal government to enact regulations.
