CrowdStrike Executive Testifies on Global Outage

We are deeply sorry, and we are determined to prevent this from ever happening again," said CrowdStrike's Senior Vice President for Counter Adversary Operations Adam Meyers. Mr. Meyers appeared before the Homeland Security Subcommittee on Cybersecurity and Infrastructure to testify on the global outage of its software update in July 2024, which left 8.5 million Microsoft Windows devices offline. He went on to stress that the outage "was not a cyber attack," but the result of a system update. Several topics were addressed, including the cause of the outage and how operations had changed since, lessons learned, partnering with the federal government, and cybersecurity challenges and threats.

POTUS Remarks on Climate at Bloomberg Global Business Forum

National Cyber Director Discusses Workforce Challenges
