After a meeting of the Federal Open Market Committee, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell held a news conference. He announced another interest rate increase, bringing the federal funds rate to a range of 1.75 to two percent. This was the second increase in 2018 and the seventh since the end of the Great Recession. The chair also signaled that two more increases were likely in 2018. close
