Campaign 2018: Package for Part 1 Senate Intel Hearing on Russia & 2016 Elections' 2
2 hours, 31 minutesClinton Watts, a former FBI special agent with the Joint Terrorism Task Force, and currently a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute and George Washington Center for Cyber and Homeland Security, detailed how he was hacked by Russia and how Russia was able to interfere in the 2016 elections through various mechanisms online. He appeared before the Senate Intelligence Committee that's conducting an investigation into Russia's meddling. Other experts also testified citing this isn't the first time Russia has interfered in democratic elections. This panel of witnesses was one of two to appear before the committee. Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) serves as chair while Sen. Mark Warner (D-VA) is the ranking member.

Discussion on Human Rights in Russia

25 minutesPresident Trump signed an executive order at the Environmental Protection Agency headquarters aimed at rolling back the Obama administration's efforts to combat climate change. The order called for a review of President Obama's Clean Power Plan and lifted the moratorium on federal leasing for coal production. Vice President Mike Pence, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke, EPA Administrator Scott Pruitt and Energy Secretary Rick Perry also provided remarks. A group of coal miners joined the President on stage for the executive order signing.

Majority Leader Mitch McConnell told Senators that's there's no traditional 60-vote standard for passing Supreme Court nominees. (he's the one who insisted on 60 under Obama) while Minority Leader Charles Schumer says in the past, the president has consulted with the other side of the aisle before nominating a potential justice and this time the president went with a nominee picked by conservative think-tanks.

Joseph Votel testified before the House Armed Services Committee announcing that the military has launched an investigation to determine if the U.S. was responsible for recent civilian casualties in Mosul, Iraq. He acknowledged that the military has not relaxed the rules of engagement. In addition, Gen. Votel agreed with the assessment previously made by Lt. Gen. Stephen Townsend, the senior U.S. commander in Iraq, that U.S.-led airstrikes "probably had a role" in civilian casualties in Mosul. Gen. Votel also addressed the various security challenges in the Middle East saying Iran poses the greatest long term threat to stability in the region.

County of Los Angeles v, Mendez
1 hour, 0 minuteThe U.S. Supreme Court sided with the police overturning a lower court ruling awarding $4 million in damages to a homeless couple who sued after being shot 15 times in a backyard shack by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies. The Supreme Court unanimously decided that the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals' "provocation rule" is not consistent with the Court's excessive force decisions. The rule held that police who use force that's not deemed excessive can still be held liable if they provoked the victims to respond in a way that makes the officers reasonable fear for their safety. In 2010 Angel Mendez and Jennifer Lynn Garcia were a homeless couple living in a shack in a friend's backyard. Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies looking for a wanted parolee, searched the friend's house and the small shack behind it. They entered the shack, without a warrant and without knocking. The deputies then fired 15 shots in the shack wounding both Garcia and Mendez. Mendez, whose leg had to be

Rally - The People's Filibuster Day of Action
