She pledged to provide the committee with any new information concerning the ongoing Russia investigation. On enhanced interrogation techniques, Ms. Elwood said she would not follow an order by President Trump to restart the program calling it "a violation of the law." Other topics addressed included CIA covert operations, NSA surveillance capabilities and incidental data collection. Ms. Elwood previously served as counsel to former President George W. Bush and deputy counsel to former Vice President Dick Cheney.

President Trump hosted a roundtable discussion with farm workers and signed an executive order promoting economic growth in the agriculture sector and rural America. The executive order directs Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue to identify and eliminate unnecessary farming regulations. At the conclusion of the event, the president was asked whether he would sign a continuing resolution to fund the government that doesn't include border wall funding. In response, he said the wall will get built 100 percent and it will stop drugs from coming in as well as have a huge effect on human trafficking.
