Congressional Budget Office (CBO) Director Phillip Swagel testified before the House Budget Committee about his agency's recent report on the budget and economic outlook for fiscal years 2020 to 2030. Director Swagel outlined the findings of the CBO report, which projected the deficit for 2020 to equal $1 trillion and average $1.3 trillion per year over the 2021 to 2030 period. The report also projected real GDP to grow by 2.2 percent in 2020 with GDP moderating later in the decade.
