Among those in attendance were President Biden and first lady Jill Biden, former President Clinton, and former first ladies Hillary Clinton, Laura Bush, Michelle Obama, and Melania Trump. Mrs. Carter died on November 19, 2023, at her home in Plains, Georgia. She was 96 years old.
