Delaware Governor Delivers State of the State Address

He celebrated achievements in job creation, infrastructure, education, climate change, and gun violence, and spoke about plans for continuing work in these areas. Moreover, he urged Delaware's lawmakers to pass legislation to get spending under control, warning that higher taxes and difficult budget cuts would likely happen if they fail to do this. Gov. Carney also gave special recognition to Rep. Valerie Longhurst (D), the first female House speaker in Delaware history. This is Mr. Carney's last year as governor due to term limits; he has served since 2017.
