Pres. Trump Hosts National Prayer Event
40 minutesPresident Trump marked the National Day of Prayer at the White House by signing an executive order which allows broader freedoms and protections for political speech and activities by religious leaders and organizations. President Trump said he was giving churches their voices back and said no one should be censoring sermons or targeting religious leaders. The President also announced that his late May 2017 trip--his first foreign trip since taking office--will include stops in Saudi Arabia, Israel and the Vatican in Rome, ahead of the NATO and G7 summits.

Sen Commerce Hearing on Airline Travel
38 minutesUnited Airlines President Scott Kirby and trade organization leaders testified before a Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation subcommittee on the current state of airline travel and ways to improve customer service. Mr. Kirby apologized for the recent incident involving a passenger being dragged off a United flight and vowed improve customer service. Chicago Department of Aviation Commissioner Ginger Evans called the United incident "completely unacceptable." She said Chicago aviation officers will no longer be allowed to board aircraft unless there is a medical emergency or security threat. Other issues raised by senators included airline fees, industry competition, overbooking of flights and treatment of airline employees.

The two leaders faced off before the May 7 runoff election in a heated debate that lasted more than two hours. This was the first time in modern French history that no candidate from a mainstream party advanced to the runoff round. Ms. Le Pen, who supports a French exit from Europe, clashed with Mr. Macron over the way forward in the European Union and how to combat terrorism in the country. Other topics focused on U.S.-France relations under the Trump administration, lowering taxes, and France's place in the world. Following the debate, France 24 panelists offered immediate analysis.
