Attorney General Merrick Garland fired back at House Republicans, saying he and the Justice Department "will not be intimidated" with threats of being held in contempt of Congress for refusing to turn over audio tapes of President Biden's interview with Special Counsel Robert Hur. The attorney general's testimony came during a nearly five-hour long oversight hearing before the House Judiciary Committee. President Biden ultimately asserted executive privilege, and the tapes were not handed over to lawmakers. Other topics in this hearing included border security, violent crime, threats against public servants and January 6 prosecutions.
