Congressional Investigations Exhibit
39 minutesCapitol Visitor Center curator Christine Blackerby took us through an exhibit looking at congressional investigations through the years, from Titanic to Watergate. She explained the steps in an investigation and showed us artifacts including a decoding machine used before Pearl Harbor, subpoenas to bank presidents after the 1929 stock market crash, and a security log from the Watergate complex.

Lectures in History: Watergate and the White House Tapes
1 hour, 7 minutesJohn Dean, former White House counsel to President Nixon and now Barry Goldwater Chair of American Institutions at Arizona State University, teaches a class on Watergate and the discovery of the Nixon White House taping system. In June 1973, during testimony before the Senate Watergate Committee, Mr. Dean implicated President Nixon and administration officials -- including himself -- in the Watergate cover-up. Mr. Dean later pleaded guilty of obstruction of justice for his role in Watergate and served four months in prison.

Geoff Shepard, "The Nixon Conspiracy"
53 minutesGeoff Shepard was the youngest lawyer on President Nixon's White House staff and is the author of "The Nixon Conspiracy: Watergate and the Plot to Remove the President." He gave his account of the scandal that led to the 37th president's 1974 resignation. This event was held at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda, California.
