She and Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC), the chair of the select subcommittee looking into the pandemic, spoke about the next economic aid package which they said would focus on the needs of state and local governments. The speaker said the aid package could have a price tag of $1 trillion and the money would help states with revenue losses from the pandemic for 3-4 years. Speaker Pelosi also addressed sexual allegation charges against former Vice President and 2020 presidential candidate Joe Biden.

White House Briefing
30 minutesIn her first briefing as White House press secretary, Kayleigh McEnany fielded questions from reporters on a range of issues, including the coronavirus pandemic, China's and the World Health Organization's (WHO) response to the outbreak, former National Security Adviser Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn (Ret.), and the sexual assault allegation against former Vice President Joe Biden. Ms. McEnany echoed President Trump's criticisms of China, charging them with not doing enough to contain the virus' spread and for not allowing U.S. investigators into the country. She also accused the WHO of acting too slowly in its response and said the organization "appears to have a very clear China bias." Additionally, the new press secretary said she planned on resuming the practice of holding regular press briefings and promised reporters, "I will never lie to you. You have my word on that."
