French President Emmanuel Macron announced that the peak of the second wave of the pandemic was over and he was easing some of he COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in time for the Christmas holiday. In his address to the nation from Paris, he outlined some of the changes to the current restrictions, including reopening small business and allowing people to exercise outside for up to three hours a day with a permit to leave their home. France is still under a full lockdown until December 15, 2020. He also talked about financial support for college students and the progress of the country's vaccine development.
