Georgia election official Gabriel Sterling (R) held a press conference to address claims of election fraud the day before the state's Senate runoff elections. Mr. Sterling disputed President Trump's accusations the Georgia presidential election results were incorrect, assured voters the Senate runoff elections would be secure, and warned voters not to "self-suppress your own vote." Responding to a question about a phone call between President Trump and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), Mr. Sterling said, "I personally found it to be something that was not normal, out of place" and "nobody I know who would be president would do something like that to a Secretary of State."
In his address to the nation on the pandemic, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson raised the alert level to 5 and announced a new nationwide lockdown in England, following a surge in coronavirus cases due to the mutated variant of the virus. After recommendations from the U.K.'s chief medical officers, the prime minister moved the COVID-19 alert level from four to five, a signal that health services and hospitals will become overwhelmed in the coming weeks. Prime Minister Johnson said it was "frustrating and alarming" to see the speed of the variant, now at 50-70 percent more transmissible in the country.

Perdue wasn't able to attend the rally because he continued to quarantine at home after coming into contact with a person who tested for COVID-19 less than a week prior.
