Advocates Testify on Abuse & Safety Before Olympic & Paralympic Commission

Their testimonies were given before the Commission on the State of U.S. Olympics and Paralympics on Capitol Hill. Witnesses were critical of the effectiveness and trustworthiness of the U.S. Center for SafeSport, a nonprofit tasked under federal law to address sexual abuse of minors and athletes. One of the witnesses was Grace French, a survivor of convicted sexual abuser Larry Nassar, who called SafeSport a "damaging institution" for survivors. SafeSport CEO Ju'Riese Colon also testified before the independent, bipartisan commission, who said her institution was imperfect but working as intended.
