FBI Director Christopher Wray testified on the agency's priorities and 2025 budget request before the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice and Science. The director addressed the recent budget cuts to the bureau's 2024 budget, saying the budget comes in "almost $500 million below what the FBI needs just to sustain our 2023 efforts this could not come at a worse time." Director Wray highlighted the areas impacted by the budget cuts, which include national security, violent crime prevention, and workforce development.
