Professors and academics discussed the impact of the Supreme Court striking down the "Chevron deference" doctrine, which held that courts defer to federal agencies to interpret ambiguous laws. They discussed the implications of the Court's ruling for the three branches of government, including the possibility of federal agencies hiring more lawyers for litigation. The Chevron doctrine, which was established by Chevron v. Natural Resources Defense Council in 1984, was struck down by Loper Bright Enterprises v. Raimondo in 2024.
