Campaign 2024: Sen. JD Vance Speaks at Firefighters Union Convention in Boston
32 minutes2024 Republican vice presidential nominee Sen. JD Vance (OH) delivered remarks at the 2024 International Association of Fire Fighters conference in Boston, just a day after his Democratic rival, Gov. Tim Walz (MN), spoke at the same convention. He made his pitch on why the union and unions in general should support the Trump-Vance ticket, saying, "After supporting Democrats for so long in this union, what has it gotten ya? ... what the hell do ya have to lose?" Sen. Vance was booed at various moments during his speech, including after remarking that he and President Trump were "proud to be the most pro-worker Republican ticket in history." He was introduced by U.S. Rep. Carlos Gimenez (R-FL), who in turn was introduced by Edward Kelly, general president of the International Association of Fire Fighters.
