21 minutes"This is a made up crime," Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL) told reporters outside of a new York courthouse where former President Donald Trump is on trial in a hush money criminal case. Rep. Gaetz and other members of the House Freedom Caucus again renewed claims of election fraud in the 2020 presidential election and election interference in the 2024 presidential election cycle. House Freedom Caucus members also took issue with Judge Juan Merchan and the witnesses calling them "corrupt." Other members of the caucus including chairman Rep. Bob Good (R-VA), Rep. Andy Biggs (R-AZ) and Rep. Anna Luna (R-FL) also spoke. All professed their support for the former president on trial with one saying, "Mr. President we've got your back."

Financial Regulators Testify at Senate Oversight Hearing

His testimony came during an oversight hearing before the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee. A recent independent report from a law firm detailed long-standing patterns of misconduct at the FDIC, including sexual harassment, racial discrimination, and angry outbursts from Mr. Gruenberg himself. He testified that the FDIC was already implementing the report's recommendations to improve its culture, saying, "We have to cut the good old boys network" that enabled abusive treatment of employees. Senators grilled Chair Gruenberg on these issues, and several Republican members called on him to resign. Federal Reserve Vice Chair Michael Barr and acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael Hsu also testified, saying the overall banking system was sound and resilient.
