The Prime Minister told members it was an "historic moment" for the U.K. and there was no turning back. Scottish National Party's parliamentary leader Angus Robertson took issue with the Brexit process, saying the negotiations will not unify the United Kingdom. Back in June 2016, Scotland voted to stay in the EU. The Scottish government is pursuing a second independence vote to leave the United Kingdom.

Senate Judiciary Gorsuch Nomination
24 minutesRepublican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee held a news conference on the steps of the U.S. Supreme Court to talk about the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch to the high court. Among them was Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley (IA) who called the threat by some Democrats to filibuster the nomination "purely politics." Minority Leader Schumer was joined by Senators Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT). In addition, they urged Senate Republicans to avoid changing the rules for confirming Supreme Court nominees. At the end of the briefing, Minority Leader Schumer revealed that Senate Democrats sent a letter to President Trump about their willingness to work with Republicans and the White House on improving health care.
