The casket of the late Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) arrived at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland and made its way to the Capitol. The motorcade made stops at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Black Lives Matter Plaza and the Supreme Court before arriving at the Capitol building.

Senate Republicans unveiled the details of the HEALS Act, introduced to provide economic stimulus amid the coronavirus pandemic. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) said the bill would provide $1 trillion in federal spending and warned no bill would pass the Senate without liability protections. The senators said the bill would extend unemployment insurance, provide another round of stimulus checks, as well as limited unemployment benefits up to 75 percent of a person's salary prior to losing their job. Also included are an extension for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), funding for small businesses in low-income communities, money for schools and higher education and protections for Medicare and Social Security, which Republicans said were approaching insolvency.
