Campaign 2024: Fmr. President Trump Speaks at South Dakota GOP Rally

He was introduced by Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD), who said he had her "full and complete endorsement" in the 2024 presidential race. During his remarks, Mr. Trump touted his record during his four years in office and said his recent indictment in a Georgia case accusing him of trying to interfere in the state's 2020 tallying of its presidential election results was an indictment of his supporters. This was Mr. Trump's first public appearance since he was formally charged in that case.

Opening Arguments in Texas Senate Impeachment Trial of State Attorney General

"Mr. Paxton should be removed from office because he failed to protect the state, and instead, used the power of his elected office for his own benefit," said Andrew Murr (R), Texas state representative and impeachment chair. Defense for the attorney general argued the prosecution lacks the evidence needed to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and the "whole case is a whole lot of nothing." Attorney General Paxton, who is currently suspended from office, was impeached in May by the state's legislature over accusations of misconduct, including bribery and obstruction of justice.

Georgia Judge Issues Ruling for Kenneth Chesbrow & Sidney Powell Requests
10 minutesFulton County, Georgia Judge Scott McAfee denied co-defendants Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro's requests to be tried independently, instead ruling they would be on trial together, starting October 23rd. In August, the 19 defendants including former President Trump were indicted for their alleged efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia. When the indictment was announced, Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said all 19 would be on trial together.

SafeSport CEO Ju'Riese Colon also testified before the independent and bipartisan commission, who said her institution was imperfect but working as intended.
