Johnson commented that Hunter's surprise appearance at the hearing didn't change the fact that he defied a congressional subpoena, and that Secretary Mayorkas was the "leading perpetrator" of illegal immigration at the border. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) announced that a congressional investigation would happen into Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's "dereliction of duty" to report his hospitalization to President Biden.
