NASA Astronauts Hold News Conference Amid Boeing Test Flight
40 minutesNASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams held a news conference amid being stuck on the International Space Station during Boeing's first-ever crewed mission. They arrived at the station over three months ago, and their mission was supposed to last only a little over a week, but technical issues caused them to remain in space. This news conference happened a week after their Boeing Starliner capsule returned to Earth without the astronauts, following NASA's determination that the capsule posed too much risk for them to return in it. A SpaceX capsule will start to bring them back to Earth in February 2025.

Phillips said, "I think it is a responsibility of administrations--Democratic and Republican--to encourage people to participate" in the democratic process and elections. Before hearing business began, Chair Roger Williams (R-TX) congratulated Ranking Member Nydia Velazquez (D-NY) on her recent portrait unveiling amid Hispanic Heritage Month. Rep. Velazquez is the first Puerto Rican woman to serve in the U.S. Congress.

Federal Reserve Chair Holds News Conference
