President Meets with First Responders of Congressional Baseball Field Shooting
25 minutesPresident Trump awarded medals of valor to five police officers who responded to the shooting that left House Majority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) and three others wounded. Among the wounded was U.S. Capitol Police Special Agent Crystal Griner. She, another colleague and three Alexandria City police officers were honored at the White House. President Trump also acknowledged other first responders and the medical teams that cared for the victims. The shooting happened on June 14th as lawmakers were practicing for the annual charity baseball game.

Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process told the Security Council that the latest events threatened to turn the decades-old political disagreement between Israeli and Palestinian leaders into a religious war. In addition to Mr. Mladenov's remarks, this portion of the council's meeting includes debate from the Palestinian, Israeli, and U.S. ambassadors to the United Nations.
