Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin Testifies Before Coronavirus Crisis Subcommittee, Part 1

The secretary talked about the state of the economy in the wake of the pandemic and what steps the federal government was taking to bring relief to ailing industries and Americans. Secretary Mnuchin talked about the stalled negotiations between the White House and congressional Democrats over an additional round of economic relief. The secretary said both sides were in agreement over a number of issues, however, the dollar amounts continued to be a sticking point. He said he would prefer that Congress pass whatever they can agree on while further negotiations continued. This is the first portion of the hearing, before the committee took a brief recess.
