He added the intel community has seen active efforts by Russia through use of social media and online journals as well as other methods to bolster divide and discord among the public. He also outlined how the agency has changed its methods to combat election interference including working with social media companies like Facebook to remove bots and fake accounts trying to spread misinformation.
