Moreover, the attorney general responded to a reporter's question about criticisms from the White House on how he oversaw special counsel Robert Hur's report, amid Mr. Hur's comments about President Biden's mental acuity. Mr. Garland responded that the notion of censoring a special counsel was "absurd," and that President Biden wants a Justice Department that is independent.
